Introduction
NNPC Foundation is a non-profit making company limited by guarantee, incorporated in February 2023, and established to undertake and manage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of NNPC Ltd and its subsidiaries, covering Education, Health, Environment, and Access to Energy.
NNPC Foundation will provide superior branding for NNPC Ltd and its subsidiaries, attract funding for developmental initiatives and ensure tax optimisation for NNPC Ltd and its subsidiaries through initiated and implemented CSR programmes.
The Foundation is to ensure and facilitate quality education through initiatives such as the provision of text books, science equipment, classroom furniture, educational financial assistances/sponsorships, organisation of campaign/awareness programs etc.
NNPC Foundation will ensure health support initiatives aimed at providing medical aids, equipment, drugs and basic health services to enhance health delivery.
Initiatives for Environmental sustainability will be focused on supports for afforestation programmes, clean up (sea, land), managing pollutions and effusions, controlling gaseous emissions, protecting sea life, promoting basic hygiene and general sanitation, advocating for use of cleaner energy etc.
NNPC Foundation will also facilitate Special Programs initiatives through supports and partnerships for managing emergency situations such as natural disasters (like floods), pandemics, human displacements caused by conflict and crisis situations etc.
Furthermore, the Foundation will advance human capital development through initiatives such as youth empowerment programs, skills acquisition, supports for entrepreneurships and start-up businesses, training, and upscaling of skillsets for digital market initiatives among others.
To facilitate the implementation of CSR initiatives for beneficiary communities by NNPC Ltd and its subsidiaries, NNPC Foundation will engage in strategic partnerships with other organisations including government agencies and the private sector for sustainable deliverables for the collective benefit of all stakeholders.
The underlying principle for the Foundation’s mandate is the adoption of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) framework as a baseline in all its commitments. NNPC Foundation will be pragmatic in carrying out its activities by driving sustainability, impactful initiatives, and the maintenance of ethical standards, which will not only portray but affirm it as a reliable company promoting the interest of the general public and at the same time projecting the NNPC Ltd and its subsidiaries as responsible business entities. The Foundation will be guided by this consciousness – that we must do right by every initiative we support or drive, ultimately for the benefit of Nigerians and other global communities we interreact with in the course of NNPC Ltd.’s and its subsidiaries’ business operations.

These are achieved through Scholarship Schemes, Entrepreneurial Training Schemes, Developmental Schemes, Provision of Relief Materials, Construction/Rehabilitation of Community Roads, Hospitals, Schools, Award of Grants, Public Enlightenment Campaigns, etc.
- Basic Financial Literacy training for 722,776 Corps Members of the NYSC
- Donation of 40,000 STEM Textbooks to 40 public secondary schools.(15,000 copies distributed in the first phase in 2024; 25,000 copies ongoing distribution in the second phase in 2025).
- Cancer Awareness and Screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancers for 3,441 individuals across the 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria and the FCT
- Donation of 21 CNG Buses to the Federal Government of Nigeria
- Implement the NNPC Foundation's overall strategic vision focused on programs around education, health, environment, special projects, and emergency response.
- Benchmark with programs of other International Companies.
- Identify and implement new investment interactions with partners and contractors.
- Manage strategic high-level relationships with third party donors/stakeholders, fund raising activities and commitment from new donors.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to our operations.
NNPC Foundation’s CSR interventions are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and focus on facilitating the provision of quality education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, cleaner energy and human capital development within Nigeria and beyond. The Foundation will leverage partnerships with government agencies, the private sector and other organisations to deliver sustainable and developmental programmes to beneficiary communities. As part of its human capital development objectives, NNPC Foundation is currently partnering with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), its consultant and NNPC Academy on skill acquisition and entrepreneurship programs for serving corps members across Nigeria, to promote economic empowerment and national development. NNPC Foundation has engaged key stakeholders in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and is collaborating with NNPC Medical Services Limited to carry out a medical outreach programme, which will offer basic health services to residents in the Area Council. NNPC Foundation has initiated the process for the provision of Mini-Science Libraries, comprising construction of bookshelves and provision of requisite science textbooks in fifteen (15) public schools across the six (6) geopolitical zones of Nigeria and in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. As part of environmental sustainability and to support afforestation, NNPC Foundation is engaging stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on a Tree Planting Campaign and Exercise.
